 Jerez Test

Adam Carroll has finished the final testing session of the 2-day post season text at Jerez, Spain, at the top of the timesheets. Running today for Minardi Piquet Sports, the Ulsterman finished 0.109 seconds ahead of the man more used to the #3 Minardi car, Xandi negrao, who today turned his hand to ART Grand Prix machinery. Third place went to Javier Villa, who narrowly beat his team-mate for the day Ernesto Viso, who made a strong return to GP2 Series running here in Spain.

Andreas Zuber was again quick for Trident Racing in fifth, with Kamui Kobayashi sixth fastest for ART Grand Prix to rank as the top GP2 Series newcomer this afternoon.

Giorgio Pantano finished the session seventh for Campos Grand Prix with Adrian Zaugg eighth for Dams, ahead of Vitaly Petrov and Mike Conway.

The iSport cars driven by Bruno Senna and Karun Chandhok finished in 24th and 25th positions after running a short race simulation immediately after lunch. With the track's peak time over, and nobody close to beating Senna's top time of the morning (which is also the new GP2 Series lap record and fastest time of this test) the Team Champions decided to pack up early and head home for a well-deserved break. In the words of Paul Jackson himself, which reflected as much about the season as it did the test, "We came, we saw, we conquered." Job Done.
