Bahrain 2008

The third Grand Prix season has seen a stunning double for Ferrari with Brazilian Massa who responded to the criticism of the last races.
Once again, we saw all the technical potential of BMW Sauber F1 and its two drivers, certainly one of the best pairs of this year together with Ferrari. Failure for the second time in the McLaren Mercedes, with deputy world champion Hamilton showing excessive nervousness especially in the two overtaking against the Japanese Sato and our Giancarlo Fisichella. The Roman today made a truly exceptional performance with a single-seater that is growing race after race and even touched upon the second phase of qualifications.

With this victory of the Brazilian Felipe Massa and Ferrari has recovered since the disaster they had two weeks ago in Malaysia and it is' positive. Positive because it means that the team has worked in his favor. Since Friday free practice losing the pole position for a small error in favor of BMW Sauber Robert Kubica and demonstrating that the man was to beat him. In the race he made no mistakes, taking the lead and immediately turning on good times with both compound tyres. Kimi Raikkonen, on the other hand, has not had a good start but then he managed to recover with some beautiful overtaking of Kubica.

This' was the first race in which the BMW Sauber F1 has enabled us to really see the progress made compared to last season  making it fast and always competitive, maintaining a good race pace with Kubica that at one point he also tried to recover the Finnish Ferrari.  If these two drivers (Kubica and Heidfeld) continue on this pace they will score  points close to their opponents.

McLaren Mercedes look in big trouble with  Lewis Hamilton being extremely nervous and away from what his team expects of him: an ugly error during the second round of free practice, and a ugly race start incident with Fernando Alonso in the early rounds. Perhaps his behaviour is given by the young age'.

A plausible explanation might be sought in the  performance of his team. I think he underestimated the potential for Kovalainen and perhaps at this moment is also emerging that Fernando had already highlighted 'last year, and that means' he lacks the right experience and can not handle the pressure. Last year ran into he had the excuse of a rookie, without too much pressure on him because he just arrived in F1 and was acclaimed by the press, but then we saw mistakes when he was struggling to win the championship. This year maybe he felt the "king of the Hill", the vice world champion by one point and then began with the idea of winning  He won the first place in Australia to the great saying that could make pushing more better, but 'then stumbled. The zero points today launched were great for Ferrari.
One driver did very well today Giancarlo Fisichella. The team finally found the right setup and is  improving the performance of the car.  Force India made a right choice with Fissi and the team will draw 'surely many benefits. We are talking about a driver who has never disfigured against its opponents (except against Alonso). He fought on a par with a Kovalainen today has saved McLaren and is proving not to have anything to envy to Hamilton. Precisely for this Sutil, which among other things, I do not consider to highly, he is suffering, because of comparison with Hamilton. Perhaps one expected something more 'by himself or underestimated his team-mate, as an "old man" entered the team only for the winter, while Roman is doing significantly well helping the team. I believe within a few Grand Prix we could see in the second phase of qualifications Fisichella with his Force India.

Regarding Renault there  Fernando Alonso has done all that he could do: held behind Rubens Barrichello significantly faster he has struggled with the car. Regarding Piquet competitive the whole weekend, while in the race he made a mistake. I do not know what this has been due to a problem at the beginning of the change which has taken him to collect them. He recovered a lot compared to the first race much closer to Fernando in terms of performance. Briatore continues to say that the work of these months will see improvement from Spain, but remember that all that long lead on the track different technical solutions for this fall, halve or cancel a gap to championship started and not' certainly easy .

Excellent confirmation for Toyota and its two drivers: Trulli and Timo Glock they finally managed to find the right path to follow to get out of the tunnel of negative results obtained in recent years. Jarno has defended very well struggling in sixth position marking good lap times. I do not believe that this rebirth is due to the possible collaboration with Williams that provides the propulsion because it is two very distinct families. Positive signals are also coming from Honda that after the catastrophic winter and especially the past season, is not going badly. Ross Brawn said that the near future will bring in many track and aerodynamic solutions that are already 'working for the 2009. The lap times there 'and I got into Q2 and this and' positive. Moreover Button and 'also came in the first 10  Regarding the incident between Button and Coulthard, I believe that the pilot of the Red Bull Racing has a lot of responsibility ': Jenson unfortunately could not do anything, David closed changing trajectory also advance twice.

Now the Leaderboard sees the big two for the first time together with the BMW Ferrari with 29 points and just behind the McLaren. Kubica this year made a big leap in quality.  Now the Ferrari and managed to recover all the ground lost at the beginning, when everyone is shouting to defeat and, as he rightly remarked Domenicali, They have a very good car, clean the curves and not suffer in changing direction when shares already 'with this advantage becomes very difficult for the others. I see instead a McLaren Mercedes in trouble with the wear on tires, in performance between different mixes and the other and of course Hamiltons nervousness that' to see if it concerns only the pilots or the whole team that they are 'in a moment of particular difficulty '.

I take this opportunity to respond to some questions that are present on the forum on night races on the future of Imola and changes to the historic tracks such as Spa and its Imola.

Regarding the news of nighttime racing of course it is done for commercial lines. The competitions were always racing, except for 24 hours, day and, since we are embracing scenario where the time zone is completely detachment from reality' Westerners' need to adapt certain races that typically take in the morning in time slots however sponsors demand times attractive for advertising space. This experiment in 'in the case of motogp in Qatar, and since it' went very well, we see what happens in Singapore with four wheels and then make a judgement on it. Certainly Formula 1, living and sponsors visibility ', it must adapt to these changes and embrace the different solutions.

Imola at the moment is sharing, there 'a new property' that wants to invest on competitions. The presentation did not proclamations concerning F1 and MotoGP although obviously ambition, as for everyone, 'to bring home these races. To get the approval of FIA, which is not granted and not easy. Diamogli time to work and hope to revise Imola that clearly is not 'the same as 20 years ago because of changes related to safety and other factors that have changed the layout rightly so' as in 'success for others track who made the history of how Spa and Monza.

Greetings to all well and continue with your questions. I Slowly try 'to answer all your curiosity'. Another thanks and see you soon.
